A sweet little oil study of a scallop shell painted in oils on board.
The first artworks created for my ’Curiosities’ range. Inspired by Victorian collector’s cabinets full of wonderful and beautiful natural treasures. Much in the way a collector would add a new shell or geode to their glass display cabinet I intend to add to this painted collection over time with more shells, crystals, geodes and brightly coloured bugs and butterflies.
Bespoke solid wood frame, hand gilded with 22ct gold leaf, painted and waxed in F&B pitch black.
